INGREDIENT PROFILE
MULLEIN
Mullein was considered one of 23 important healing herbs in mediaeval Jewish medical practice. Mullein's large stalk was used as a ceremonial torch as far back as ancient Rome. The Creek Indians drank a tea infusion of the roots for coughs whilst other tribes smoked the roots or dried leaves to treat asthma. Some Native American tribes considered Mullein to be a spiritual healing herb.
ASHWAGANDHA
Used in holistic medicine for more than 3,000 years and seen as nature’s gift to mankind! Interestingly the Sanskrit word ‘ashwagandha’ is translated as ‘the smell of a horse’ which reflects its ability to bring you strength and stamina!
CHAMOMILE FLOWER
Used in herbal remedies for thousands of years in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Its popularity grew in the Middle Ages as a remedy for asthma, nausea, colic, fevers, inflammation, anxiety, skin diseases and cancer.
FENNEL
Ancient Greeks and Romans used fennel for strength, courage, and longevity. In Medieval times, fennel was hung over doors on Midsummer’s Eve to ward off evil spirits and prevent witchcraft.
GOTU KOLA
Valued for thousands of years for its ability to boost mindfulness and rejuvenate consciousness. It is a true adaptogen and for this reason, it was highly prized in both ancient India and China, with references in classical Ayurvedic and Daoist medical texts with its leaf being said to resemble the brain in appearance.
LEMON BALM
Regarded as a “calming” herb and traditionally used to combat anxiety, stress and insomnia, to treat wounds, ease indigestion and to stimulate the appetite. Lemon Balm tea has enjoyed a long reputation as a rejuvenating tonic. King Charles V of France (1364-1380) reputedly sipped on lemon balm tea daily to ensure good health and longevity.
CAUTIONS & CONSIDERATIONS
Mullein is widely considered safe although it may cause skin irritation for some people.

Fun Fact
Research in 18th century England found that mullein relieved the symptoms of tuberculosis. It was found that when mullein was used in initial stages of the disease, it could bring about a full recovery.
